Q&A's first BrainLove took place in May 2017 and was created with fellow friends and artists to benefit NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health) . Personal stories and information about NAMI were sprinkled throughout an evening of dance and musical performances by Q&A, Hannah Button, Ella Joy Meir, Mike Bono, and Evan Nachimson. It was a truly lovely evening, and $550 was raised that night and donated directly to NAMI.
PAIRED UP is an ongoing multi-disciplinary series that showcases duets of dance, live music, and dance film. Q&A produced PAIRED UP at The Tank in February and May of 2016. Q&A had a blast emcee-ing and performing in programs with their incredible artist friends, as well as some performers whom they had never met!
Sugar, Spice, & More Spice was a show that Q&A put together for The Tank's weekend of all-female performances called LadyFest. They presented dance, music, and film created and performed by women, and it was a very special and intimate evening.
Performing Artists: Ella Joy Meir & Hannah Button, Bridge & Olive Dance, Chloeisabow + Co, Charli Brissey, and Ashni.
The Variety Show was presented in partnership with JACK (cool performance space in Brooklyn) and Hops Hill (super rad beer bar). Originally conceived by Mike the Bartender and Quincie (who is a Hops Hill regular), the idea for the show was to present the many talented artists who frequented Hops Hill. The bar and the venue share a small yard, so the backdoors stayed open and audience members flowed freely between the two establishments. Performances took place from 7-11pm, and included dance, spoken word, comedy, and live music. Everyone who bought a ticket got a free beer from Kelso Brewery, and there were Australian meat pies for purchase during the show. It was a long, great night.
